WE FIGHT FASCISM through mutual aid: community helping community. It's good for the soul and, in this case, the appetite. We'll be discussing and learning about how to help people in the community affected by loss of SNAP benefits and increased ICE raids. Growing Gardens will be there to share about their community work
EVERYONE is invited to Soup Night on Tuesday, December 16th, a community gathering centered around soup, bread, fresh-baked cookies, conversation, and care. From 5–8pm at Che; (920 NE Glisan), chefs, farmers, makers, and local businesses are joining forces to support immigrant families and community members pushed into poverty or food insecurity, especially as safety-net resources remain uncertain.
SOUP NIGHT is built on a simple idea: sharing a bowl of soup is an act of solidarity and the belief that everyone deserves to be fed and safe. For $20, guests enjoy a hearty, community-made meal—and that same purchase also provides a meal for someone experiencing food insecurity.
ALL FOOD AND FUNDS from the event will be donated through Growing Gardens, who will distribute meals and resources directly to community members in need. Beer, wine, and beverages with support from local producers will be available, with 100% beverage proceeds also supporting the effort.
